Dunhill: Shell Briar with Silver (4107) (2020) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-5986
Offered in eminently balanced Group 3 dimensions, this "07" Prince shape is quite elegant, with a lithe, arrow-straight shank and elongated stem arrangement giving it the princely grace lovers of the shape seek. In addition, this piece is part of a unique line by the White Spot which features brindled stems in striking colors, in this case black and grey. Dressed in the English marque's stunning Shell Briar sandblast, this already handsome piece is elevated further by a sterling silver band.
The Shell Briar's addition to the Dunhill catalog was a pivotal moment in pipe-smoking history. Before 1917, pipes with sandblasted finishes had never been made, and Alfred Dunhill's innovative mind created arguably the most popular finish for pipes today when he unveiled the Shell Briar. With its dark, reserved color palette and delightful texture, it's no surprise that it's still wildly popular over a century later.
