Dunhill: County (4217) (2021) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-5999
Saddle-stemmed versions of Dunhill's "17" Bulldog rendition are less common than the tapered stem variety. It changes the overall demeanor of the design considerably, the negative space and diminution of the saddle stem adding more prominence and stocky muscularity to this particular Group 4 example. The "17" is Dunhill's more squat and broad Bulldog, compared to the taller "04," and that difference is well personified by this piece, dressed in the rustic sandblast of the County line.
Like the Cumberland finish, Dunhill's County line pairs rich, cumberland stems with delightfully textured sandblasts. Typically, County pieces wear a lighter stain, often falling between the Cumberland and Tanshell hues, and since its introduction in 1986, with only a brief hiatus, the County remains stalwart within Dunhill's portfolio, especially desired by lovers of brindled vulcanite and warm sandblasts.
