Dunhill: Millennium Hallmark Shell Briar with Silver (4103) (2021) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-015-6009

Many pipe smokers (and makers) consider Dunhill's "03" straight Billiard to be the archetype of the shape-chart standard. It's presented here in bold Group 4 size, the thick-walled bowl offering a good bit of chamber depth and refined muscularity. As part of the marque's Millennium Hallmark line, it's accented by an opulent silver band, the metalwork quite ornate and pairing well with the dark sandblast of the Shell Briar finish for a stunning dress pipe aesthetic.

The Shell Briar's addition to the Dunhill catalog was a pivotal moment in pipe-smoking history. Before 1917, pipes with sandblasted finishes had never been made, and Alfred Dunhill's innovative mind created arguably the most popular finish for pipes today when he unveiled the Shell Briar. With its dark, reserved color palette and delightful texture, it's no surprise that it's still wildly popular over a century later.
