Dunhill: Ring Grain with Silver (3104) (2021) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-015-6070

Presented in Group 3 size, this "04" Bulldog features a tall, upright bowl with a crisp ridgeline that demarcates the form's tapered rim from the rest of the stummel. Said bowl is paired to a crisply lined diamond and a slender tapered mouthpiece. The shank's pronounced lines reinforce the form's muscular build, while the chamfered rim softens the bowl's stern appearance. As part of a limited series, this piece is dressed in the crisp, jet-black Shell Briar sandblast, accented with a sterling silver band, and topped by a stem of cumberland.

The Shell Briar's addition to the Dunhill catalog was a pivotal moment in pipe-smoking history. Before 1917, pipes with sandblasted finishes had never been made, and Alfred Dunhill's innovative mind created arguably the most popular finish for pipes today when he unveiled the Shell Briar. With its dark, reserved color palette and delightful texture, it's no surprise that it's still wildly popular over a century later.
