Dunhill: Ring Grain with Silver (3110) (2021) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-015-6075

Presented in handy Group 3 size, this "10" Bing's Favorite Billiard from Dunhill features a tall, upright bowl that's married to a slender, arrow-straight shank-and-stem arrangement. The shank and stem keep the form sleek and streamlined in profile, and provide balance to the bowl. As part of a limited edition series, this piece is dressed in the dark Shell Briar sandblast and topped by a vibrant cumberland mouthpiece, a rare combination of the English marque's most easily recognizable finish and stem type. The sandblast that dresses the stummel draws out neat stacks of growth rings across all sides of the bowl, and the quality of the grain on display earned this piece Dunhill's prestigious Ring Grain designation.

Having earned the English marque's prestigious Ring Grain designation, this Dunhill piece wears a particularly choice iteration of the Shell Briar sandblast — displaying stunning waves of ring grain across the stummel. The Shell Briar's addition to the Dunhill catalog was a pivotal moment in pipe-smoking history. Before 1917, pipes with sandblasted finishes had never been made, and Alfred Dunhill's innovative mind created arguably the most popular finish for pipes today when he unveiled the Shell Briar. With its dark, reserved color palette and delightful texture, it's no surprise that it's still wildly popular over a century later.
