Dunhill: Chestnut (2111) (2021) Tobacco Pipe

A rather uncommon combination of shape and size, this "2111" Lovat from Dunhill is quite a trim rendition of the classic shape, maintaining a very light weight and measuring in at just a touch over five inches long. A truly timeless shape, this Lovat sees a pert, gently tapering and forward canting bowl with a rounded heel paired to a lengthy shank and trim stem. Its wide transition leaves plenty of room to drape a thumb, and the saddle orientation of the stem keeps the aft side of the profile quit sleek. Dressing this rendition are the deep, earthy hues of the glossy Chestnut finish, revealing some handsome grain all around, while the cumberland stem provides matching color.

A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.
