Dunhill: Chestnut (3111) (2021) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-6146
Though occasionally rendered in other Group sizes, I find that Dunhill's "11" Lovat is at its best in Group 3. The proportions are simply spot on and the overall size is generous in hand yet versatile enough to clench or easily stow in a pocket. It's the perfect everyday pipe, especially in the Chestnut finish — the dark stain and cumberland stem making for a consistent and beautifully elegant color palette.
A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.
