Dunhill: Shell Briar White Spot Bent Bulldog with Silver (P) (F/T) (3100) (2021) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-015-6225

In the White Spot series, Dunhill resurrects old, vintage shapes, whose specific nomenclature designations have been discontinued. This compact and muscular bent Bulldog, then, is the esteemed "P" design — a shape from the era when the English company utilized letters instead of numbers for their shapes. In a bit of an anomaly, this pipe is stamped "3100" in addition to its lettered shape. The "P" bent Bulldog has been cherished by collectors, and it's here brought to the modern stage, dressed in the iconic Shell Briar sandblast and, like all White Spot-series pipes, adorned with stunning sterling silver.

The Shell Briar's addition to the Dunhill catalog was a pivotal moment in pipe-smoking history. Before 1917, pipes with sandblasted finishes had never been made, and Alfred Dunhill's innovative mind created arguably the most popular finish for pipes today when he unveiled the Shell Briar. With its dark, reserved color palette and delightful texture, it's no surprise that it's still wildly popular over a century later.
