Dunhill: Amber Root (4101F) (2022) (9mm) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-6253
Presented in handy Group 4 size, this "01" Apple from Dunhill features a plump, well-rounded bowl that stands at the fore of a sleek stretch of shank and stem. As expected from the prestigious English marque, the proportions here are well-balanced and precise, with the bowl, shank, and stem all visually aligned within the composition. The handsome Amber Root finish dresses the stummel and highlights a fetching display of grain around the bowl's supple walls. As part of Dunhill's "F" series, this piece is drilled to accommodate a 9mm filter.
One of Dunhill's more recent finishes, the Amber Root was introduced in 1995. Like the Root Briar, it showcases a smooth stain, accentuating the briar's natural grain in traditional style. Typically auburn-hued, the Amber Root is often a touch darker in color than that of the Root Briar, pairing handsomely with the jet-black stem for an aesthetic that combines the grain definition of the Root Briar finish with the darker, smokier tones of the Bruyere.--Davin Hylton
