Dunhill: Chestnut (2308) (2022) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-6359
A unique rendition of the "08" Rhodesian, this piece from Dunhill is presented in petite Group 2 size, but you wouldn't necessary known that judging by its silhouette. While the bowl and shank are trim and demure, the stem is quite lengthy and languid, its build stretching out the form's measurement. The shape's lightweight and the stem's arcing posture ensure this piece will hang comfortably from the jaw. It's all dressed in the smoky Chestnut finish, which covers the briar's natural grain under a shadowy stain.
A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.--Davin Hylton
