Dunhill: Chestnut (5215) (2015) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-6373
Dunhill's "15" bent Pot is a classically English take on the pipe chart standard shape, the smooth, bevel-rimmed bowl a touch shorter than a normal Billiard, and the chamber surrounded by thick insulating walls. Such a stouter bowl design makes for a more muscular disposition up front, which is continued through the heel, transition, and shank; it also results in a chamber of more square dimensions for those who prefer broader chambers, rather than those of deep, slender proportions. Here, the solid form is dressed in the smooth, deep hues of the County finish, pairing the stummel to a cumberland stem and keeping the palette timeless and handsome.
Like the Cumberland finish, Dunhill's County line pairs rich, cumberland stems with delightfully textured sandblasts. Typically, County pieces wear a lighter stain, often falling between the Cumberland and Tanshell hues, and since its introduction in 1986, with only a brief hiatus, the County remains stalwart within Dunhill's portfolio, especially desired by lovers of brindled vulcanite and warm sandblasts.
