Dunhill: Chestnut (3104) (2019) Tobacco Pipe

Dunhill's "04" Bulldog can vary quite a bit depending on its Group size. Here in moderate Group 3 designation, it's a reserved iteration, neither significantly tall nor especially squat. Likewise, the proportions between bowl and shank are balanced and indicative of Dunhill's classic shaping style. Its sharp, tapered heel lends some firmness to the profile, matched by the hard lines of the diamond shank and stem, and it's finished in the Chestnut series' dark, warm hues and topped with a cumberland stem.
A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.
