Dunhill: Bruyere (1105) (2022) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-015-6675

The "05" Dublin on Dunhill's shape chart is a design that scales exceptionally well across the English marque's various Group sizes. By that, I mean that if judging only by pictures, a certain rendition's true size is difficult to determine because the White Spot's shaping and proportions are so balanced and coherent. In effect, then, a Group 3 example could look extremely similar to this Group 1 version based on the relative proportions of the pictures, just with increased dimensions all around. Sleek and streamlined through the shank and stem, it presents a conservatively flared, stoic bowl on the end and is dressed in the ever-classic Bruyere finish.

The Bruyere was Alfred Dunhill's original finish upon launching his brand of premium pipes and smoking accessories and was the only Dunhill finish from 1910 until 1917. Even after the addition of other finishes, the Bruyere maintained a high level of popularity, becoming synonymous with what is thought of, even today, as the quintessential pipe. To achieve the iconic, ruby hue and saturation, a skilled craftsman painstakingly layers particular stains in a precise manner, then meticulously polishes the pipe to a high luster. The final result is, simply put, timeless.
