Dunhill: Bruyere (2113) (2019) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-6678
Dunhill presents a bent Apple here that is uncommon in shape and size, making it even more versatile and appealing. The "13" offering is rendered in Group 2 size for a rare combination, with the small, forward-urging bowl featuring a lifted heel and a more squat design than is often seen in Apple shapes. A tight transition and sinuous S-curve imbue this piece with even more gracefulness, with the overall aesthetic being that of an elegant, high-quality pipe.
The Bruyere was Alfred Dunhill's original finish upon launching his brand of premium pipes and smoking accessories and was the only Dunhill finish from 1910 until 1917. Even after the addition of other finishes, the Bruyere maintained a high level of popularity, becoming synonymous with what is thought of, even today, as the quintessential pipe. To achieve the iconic, ruby hue and saturation, a skilled craftsman painstakingly layers particular stains in a precise manner, then meticulously polishes the pipe to a high luster. The final result is, simply put, timeless.--Davin Hylton
