Dunhill: County (4112) (2018) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-6728
Dunhill's "12" shape has always been an amply sized Stack; however, it's been rendered a variety of ways, several of which could be considered on the more atypical side. On occasion, when seen in a standard length, the "12" can feature a cutaway at the fore — hearkening back to Alfred Dunhill's "windshield" pipe design — and versions where the rim has not been cut away are sometimes paired to a Churchwarden stem. In the piece, though, tradition has been followed in all areas, from bowl shape to stem length, making for a striking iteration of the standard Stack.
Like the Cumberland finish, Dunhill's County line pairs rich, cumberland stems with delightfully textured sandblasts. Typically, County pieces wear a lighter stain, often falling between the Cumberland and Tanshell hues, and since its introduction in 1986, with only a brief hiatus, the County remains stalwart within Dunhill's portfolio, especially desired by lovers of brindled vulcanite and warm sandblasts.
