Dunhill: Cumberland Zodiac 'Year of the Pig 2019' (4103) (211/288) Tobacco Pipe

In celebration of the Lunar New Year, Dunhill creates a limited number of pipes in a variety of finishes yearly for their Zodiac Series. In 2019, it was the Year of the Pig, and Dunhill chose to represent the Zodiac with, perhaps, their most iconic shape, the "03" Billiard in Group 4 size. This pipe will be instantly familiar to any fan of Dunhill, but there are atypical features as well, namely the auburn, smooth rim and the glistening silver band that displays a carved picture of a pig. Additionally, this classic Billiard is dressed in Dunhill's Cumberland finish, which pairs a rugged sandblast to a cumberland tapered stem.

When Alfred Dunhill released his patented Shell Briar, he forever changed the pipe-smoking world at large. Dunhill has often been credited with being the first to offer sandblasted pipes (arguably the most popular finish today), and the Cumberland finish further displayed Dunhill's innovative spirit. Well received after its release in 1979, the Cumberland series was named for the English marque's warehouse on Cumberland road, and the line's signature, brindled vulcanite stem became so iconic, the warmly striated material is now referred to simply as "cumberland."
