Dunhill: Bruyere (2302) (2021) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-6817
This archetypal bent Billiard from Dunhill is rendered in petite Group 2 proportions, making it a perfect to stow in a jacket pocket. The traditional English shaping is solid but sleek, with a rolling heel and gently upturned shank and a tapered stem that bends to mirror the stummel's forward motion. Ideal for clenching, this piece makes a welcome companion on any journey, even if one goes only as far as the easy chair, offered here in the timeless Bruyere finish.
The Bruyere was Alfred Dunhill's original finish upon launching his brand of premium pipes and smoking accessories and was the only Dunhill finish from 1910 until 1917. Even after the addition of other finishes, the Bruyere maintained a high level of popularity, becoming synonymous with what is thought of, even today, as the quintessential pipe. To achieve the iconic, ruby hue and saturation, a skilled craftsman painstakingly layers particular stains in a precise manner, then meticulously polishes the pipe to a high luster. The final result is, simply put, timeless.-Gabriel Bass
