Dunhill: Chestnut with Silver (5133) (2019) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-6848
The "33" is Dunhill's take on the bent Brandy. However, this particular pipe revises the traditional "33," opting instead for a Volcano shape. A defined ridgeline wraps around the bottom of the bowl, which tapers to a flattened underside, giving this pipe a stable sitting posture. Furthermore, the well-bent shank and tapered stem frame the muscular Group 5 bowl at the fore, which is dressed in Dunhill's Chestnut finish.
A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.
