Dunhill: Amber Root (3406) (2015) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-6890
Rendered here in Group 3 size, this "06" Pot by Dunhill is one of their more creative renditions of the shape-chart standard. The bowl retains a robust feel, but skews closer to a sleek Billiard bowl than a broad Pot. The shank is slightly longer than usual, and the stem presents a willowy downturn to the bit, giving the traditionally muscular Pot shape an elegant profile. This imaginative interpretation of the "06" wears one of Dunhill's most esteemed finishes, the prestigious Amber Root.
One of Dunhill's more recent finishes, the Amber Root was introduced in 1995. Like the Root Briar, it showcases a smooth stain, accentuating the briar's natural grain in traditional style. Typically auburn-hued, the Amber Root is often a touch darker in color than that of the Root Briar, pairing handsomely with the jet-black stem for an aesthetic that combines the grain definition of the Root Briar finish with the darker, smokier tones of the Bruyere.
