Dunhill: Chestnut (5128) (2018) Tobacco Pipe

One of Dunhill's scarcer shapes, this "28" Diplomat combines several elements of other shape-chart standard pipes. The rotund bowl is reminiscent of the elegant "07" Prince, whereas the arcing shank-stem arrangement inspires comparisons to the "21" Zulu. These elements combine to create a hearty, organic shape that appears here in hand-filling Group 5 size, which provides a vast space to display Dunhill's distinguished Chestnut finish.

A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.
