Dunhill: Bruyere (4107) (2020) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-6910
Offered in moderately sized Group 4 dimensions, this "07" Dunhill Prince is quite elegant, with a lithe, arrow-straight shank and elongated stem arrangement giving it the princely grace that lovers of the shape seek. This sleekness reinforces the visual presence of the plump bowl, allowing one to fully appreciate the broad, low-set waistline and subtle taper to the rim. Dressed in the English marque's timeless, glossy Bruyere finish, the stummel's deep auburn stain reveals some handsome grain, pairing well with the black stem for a classic, refined aesthetic.
The Bruyere was Alfred Dunhill's original finish upon launching his brand of premium pipes and smoking accessories and was the only Dunhill finish from 1910 until 1917. Even after the addition of other finishes, the Bruyere maintained a high level of popularity, becoming synonymous with what is thought of, even today, as the quintessential pipe. To achieve the iconic, ruby hue and saturation, a skilled craftsman painstakingly layers particular stains in a precise manner, then meticulously polishes the pipe to a high luster. The final result is, simply put, timeless.
