Dunhill: Chestnut (2101) (2019) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-6931
Dunhill's classically English approach to pipe making is on full display in this archetypal Apple. It's pert, plump bowl rests on a rounded heel at the fore of a perfectly balanced round shank and tapered vulcanite stem. The supple curves of the bowl lend this lighter, Group 2-sized "01" shape a reassuring presence in hand, while remaining light enough to clench with ease. Dressed in the warm smooth finish and matching cumberland stem of the Chestnut line, this pipe showcases handsome grain and a timeless aesthetic.
A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.-Gabriel Bass
