Dunhill: Bruyere (3421) (2017) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-7030
A curvaceous, gestural shape, the "21" Zulu by Dunhill is one of the marque's more organic designs. The flaring, Dublin-esque bowl seamlessly transitions into a broad shank, which features a vulcanite mount at the shank end, increasing the durability of this piece. Furthermore, a willowy stem joins to the mount, as its demure downturn to the bit keeps with the flowing theme of this pipe. Additionally, this "21" is rendered in Group 3 size and is dressed in the smokey tones of Dunhill's Bruyere finish.
The Bruyere was Alfred Dunhill's original finish upon launching his brand of premium pipes and smoking accessories and was the only Dunhill finish from 1910 until 1917. Even after the addition of other finishes, the Bruyere maintained a high level of popularity, becoming synonymous with what is thought of, even today, as the quintessential pipe. To achieve the iconic, ruby hue and saturation, a skilled craftsman painstakingly layers particular stains in a precise manner, then meticulously polishes the pipe to a high luster. The final result is, simply put, timeless.--Zach Podl
