Dunhill: Chestnut (5101F) (2022) (9mm) Tobacco Pipe

Presented in robust Group 5 size, this "01" Apple from Dunhill features a plump, well-rounded bowl that stands at the fore of a sleek stretch of shank and stem. As expected from the prestigious English marque, the proportions here are well-balanced and precise, with the bowl, shank, and stem all visually aligned within the composition. The handsome Chestnut finish dresses the stummel and highlights a fetching display of grain around the bowl's supple walls. As part of Dunhill's "F" series, this piece is drilled to accommodate a 9mm filter.

A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.
