Dunhill: Amber Root with Silver (4102F) (2022) (9mm) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-7265
One of the most iconic pipe designs, the bent Billiard has been a mainstay on the classic shape chart since pipes first started being carved from briar. Dunhill is known for its traditional realization of classics, and for many collectors and pipe smokers, the English marque's "02" bent Billiard is considered the archetypal rendition to which all others are compared. Here, in Group 4 size, it's a bold and regal example, with this particular example accommodating a 9mm filter for pipe smokers who prefer filtered options. Additionally, this piece is dressed in the Amber Root smooth finish and accented with a sterling silver band.
One of Dunhill's more recent finishes, the Amber Root was introduced in 1995. Like the Root Briar, it showcases a smooth stain, accentuating the briar's natural grain in traditional style. Typically auburn-hued, the Amber Root is often a touch darker in color than that of the Root Briar, pairing handsomely with the jet-black stem for an aesthetic that combines the grain definition of the Root Briar finish with the darker, smokier tones of the Bruyere.
