Dunhill: Bruyere (4112) (2018) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-015-7307

This "4112" from English marque Dunhill is a sleek-lined and lightweight Stack that features a tall, deep-chambered bowl paired to a rounded shank and a tapered stem that terminates gracefully at the lip button. The low-set transition further accentuates the bowl's height without being too dramatic or excessive, fostering a bowl-forward aesthetic that's still rooted in classic pipe design. This piece's traditional appeal is cemented thanks to the deep, rich stain of Dunhill's Bruyere finish, showcasing handsome grain and keeping the palette subdued.

The Bruyere was Alfred Dunhill's original finish upon launching his brand of premium pipes and smoking accessories and was the only Dunhill finish from 1910 until 1917. Even after the addition of other finishes, the Bruyere maintained a high level of popularity, becoming synonymous with what is thought of, even today, as the quintessential pipe. To achieve the iconic, ruby hue and saturation, a skilled craftsman painstakingly layers particular stains in a precise manner, then meticulously polishes the pipe to a high luster. The final result is, simply put, timeless.
