Dunhill: Dress (2202) (2018) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-015-7379

Dunhill's "02" bent Billiard is a shape almost as iconic as the English marque itself, the classic shaping and pleasing proportions inspiring countless chart standards for companies around the world. The sweeping undercurve of this pipe's profile reaches all the way to the rim, the sinuousness of the lines a testament to the talents of Dunhill's craftsmen. Of course, the most striking aspect of this piece is its size, belonging to Group 2, its proportions accordingly trim and svelte, the light weight and smartly downturned saddle stem making it an excellent candidate for clenching. Presented in the timeless and classy Dress finish, this pipe's dark stain and silver accent offer a remarkably refined aesthetic.

One of the most fashionable finishes in all of pipe making and one that inspired an entire aesthetic, Dunhill's Dress finish was first introduced in 1973 as the Black Briar — renamed "Dress" in 1979 with the addition of silver — and is meant to elegantly complement a tuxedo or similar formal wear, perfect for a night on the town. Characterized by its glossy, jet-black stain and sterling silver accent band, the Dress finish exudes class and imbues each pipe it adorns with a sense of refinement and sophistication. It's the progenitor of the term "dress pipe," now used to reference any black-and-silver pipe, and is one of the most distinctive finishes in all of pipedom.
