Dunhill: Chestnut (4105) (2018) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-7403
Dunhill's "05" straight Dublin always seems to have a natural ability to scale rather nicely across each of the marque's various Group sizes. This robust Group 4 example eschews the more muscular shank we often see from similarly sized iterations of this shape, instead, the aft is kept slender and sleek to place the bowl at the forefront of the composition. From out of the firm heel, the bowl gradually flares upward toward the rim, offering no shortage of chamber depth, with plenty of insulating briar lent to the chamber walls. It's all dressed in the deep, luxurious stain of the Chestnut finish, showcasing some handsome grain in timeless fashion.
A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.
