Dunhill: Shell Briar Quaint Acorn (3) (2023) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-015-7467

Dunhill's Quaint series is composed of shapes that fall beyond the English marque's standard chart, showcasing a more playful aesthetic. This Group 3 Acorn is a sleek design that places a pert, curvaceous bowl atop a sloping heel at the fore of a lengthy oval shank and comfortably bent vulcanite stem. Dressed in the Shell Briar finish, the stummel offers plenty of crisp texture for the fingers to explore.

The Shell Briar's addition to the Dunhill catalog was a pivotal moment in pipe-smoking history. Before 1917, pipes with sandblasted finishes had never been made, and Alfred Dunhill's innovative mind created arguably the most popular finish for pipes today when he unveiled the Shell Briar. With its dark, reserved color palette and delightful texture, it's no surprise that it's still wildly popular over a century later.
