Dunhill: County Quaint Acorn (2) (2019) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-7571
The Acorn isn't a non-traditional design; a number of vintage French and English makers have produced the design. However, Dunhill doesn't designate a shape number for it on the systematized shape chart, thus such renditions are found in the English marque's Quaint series. Of all the versions I've seen, this Group 2 is the most reserved and quintessentially "classic" — the bowl marked by an obvious yet simple Acorn shape, and the shank and stem remaining sleek and streamlined for a perfectly balanced, soft-lined aesthetic. Dunhill's County finish dresses the stummel in a warm, earthy sandblast
Like the Cumberland finish, Dunhill's County line pairs rich, cumberland stems with delightfully textured sandblasts. Typically, County pieces wear a lighter stain, often falling between the Cumberland and Tanshell hues, and since its introduction in 1986, with only a brief hiatus, the County remains stalwart within Dunhill's portfolio, especially desired by lovers of brindled vulcanite and warm sandblasts.
