Dunhill: County Quaint Zulu with Silver (3) (2017) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-7584
Dunhill's Quaint series features unique compositions that fall outside of the English marque's standard shape chart, with this Zulu being a fetching example of what the line has to offer. Presented in handy Group 3 size, this piece boasts a tall bowl that stands at the fore of a trim oval shank and a demurely curved tapered stem. Said bowl flares from its firm heel to its broad rim, and as it does, it takes on a subtle forward cant that keeps the totality of the shape looking dynamic in profile. The shank and stem's languid curve lends further activity to the shape's silhouette and promotes a comfortable smoking posture. The County sandblast completes the ensemble and highlights healthy grain across the bowl's flanks, the finish's rustic complexion elevated by a bright band of sterling silver at the junction.
Like the Cumberland finish, Dunhill's County line pairs rich, cumberland stems with delightfully textured sandblasts. Typically, County pieces wear a lighter stain, often falling between the Cumberland and Tanshell hues, and since its introduction in 1986, with only a brief hiatus, the County remains stalwart within Dunhill's portfolio, especially desired by lovers of brindled vulcanite and warm sandblasts.
