Dunhill: County Quaint Pickaxe with Silver (4) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-7605
When one thinks of Dunhill pipes, the Pickaxe is not a shape that readily comes to mind, which is exactly why they offer these Quaint, non-shape-chart-conforming pieces. The English marque pulls this design off beautifully, with grace and poise flowing throughout the rakish and angular profile. Displaying a sharply pointed heel spur underneath a gently flaring bowl and tapered rim, this Group-4 version wears the ruddy sandblast and cumberland stem of the County line and is adorned with a band of sterling silver.
Like the Cumberland finish, Dunhill's County line pairs rich, cumberland stems with delightfully textured sandblasts. Typically, County pieces wear a lighter stain, often falling between the Cumberland and Tanshell hues, and since its introduction in 1986, with only a brief hiatus, the County remains stalwart within Dunhill's portfolio, especially desired by lovers of brindled vulcanite and warm sandblasts.
