Dunhill: County (5128) (2019) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-7611
Though a classic shape, the Diplomat is not one often fashioned, even by a workshop as traditional as Dunhill. As such, this Group 5 example is perfect for collectors of classic English pipes, with The White Spot's example here conforming perfectly to the archetypal form. The bowl is plumply round like an Author's, but the shank is oval of cross section, making for a more trim shank-and-stem combination in profile while also accentuating the bowl's curvature.
Like the Cumberland finish, Dunhill's County line pairs rich, cumberland stems with delightfully textured sandblasts. Typically, County pieces wear a lighter stain, often falling between the Cumberland and Tanshell hues, and since its introduction in 1986, with only a brief hiatus, the County remains stalwart within Dunhill's portfolio, especially desired by lovers of brindled vulcanite and warm sandblasts.
