Dunhill: Bruyere with Silver (3202) (2023) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-7721
Dunhill's "02" bent Billiard is a shape almost as iconic as the English marque itself, the classic shaping and pleasing proportions inspiring countless chart standards for companies around the world. The sweeping undercurve of this pipe's profile reaches all the way to the rim, the sinuousness of the lines a testament to the talents of Dunhill's craftsmen. Here in Group 3 size, this pipe is charmingly compact, and its light weight and smartly downturned saddle stem make it an excellent candidate for clenching. Dressed in the warm, rich stain of Dunhill's original Bruyere finish, the stummel showcases handsome grain throughout, nicely contrasted by an elegant junction band of silver.
The Bruyere was Alfred Dunhill's original finish upon launching his brand of premium pipes and smoking accessories and was the only Dunhill finish from 1910 until 1917. Even after the addition of other finishes, the Bruyere maintained a high level of popularity, becoming synonymous with what is thought of, even today, as the quintessential pipe. To achieve the iconic, ruby hue and saturation, a skilled craftsman painstakingly layers particular stains in a precise manner, then meticulously polishes the pipe to a high luster. The final result is, simply put, timeless.
