Dunhill: Chestnut (3104) (2023) Tobacco Pipe

This "04" Bulldog from Dunhill boasts all of the form's characteristic features, including a firm-lined diamond shank, a pair of wrapping beadlines, and a tapered rim. The shank's structural lines extend through the transition and lend the bowl a rigid, architectural style of heel, which offers a touch of contrast to the supple curves of the chamber's walls. The Chestnut smooth finish dresses the stummel and highlights a gorgeous showing of grain, all underneath a dark, smoky stain.
A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.
