Dunhill: Chestnut (5112) (2021) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-7796
This "5112" from English marque Dunhill is a sleek-lined and fairly lightweight Stack compared to other Group 5 pipes that features a tall, deep-chambered bowl paired to a rounded shank and tapered stem. The low-set transition further accentuates the bowl's height without being too dramatic or excessive, fostering a bowl-forward aesthetic that's still rooted in classic pipe design. Complete with ample chamber depth and plenty of roundness at the bowl for a comfortable feel in hand, this pipe is well-suited to leisurely smoking. This piece's traditional appeal is cemented thanks to the deep, rich stain of the Chestnut finish, revealing handsome grain and boasting a cumberland stem.
A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.
