Dunhill: Bruyere with Horn (5101) (2023) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-7890
In robust Group 5 size, Dunhill's classic "01" Apple presents a considerable amount of palm-filling substance, offering a comforting in-hand feel and generous depth of chamber for relaxing smoking sessions. The bowl is bulbous, tapered toward the rim, and the horn-accented shank is relatively thick, complementing the bowl's heartiness. The bowl's curves are maintained through the underside of the stummel, keeping the feel in hand supple, the ample surface area of the briar leaving plenty of room to showcase handsome grain: all beneath Dunhill's Bruyere smooth finish.
The Bruyere was Alfred Dunhill's original finish upon launching his brand of premium pipes and smoking accessories and was the only Dunhill finish from 1910 until 1917. Even after the addition of other finishes, the Bruyere maintained a high level of popularity, becoming synonymous with what is thought of, even today, as the quintessential pipe. To achieve the iconic, ruby hue and saturation, a skilled craftsman painstakingly layers particular stains in a precise manner, then meticulously polishes the pipe to a high luster. The final result is, simply put, timeless.
