Dunhill: Chestnut (5122) (2023) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-7897
While Dunhill's "22" Poker is incredibly traditional, maintaining the classic elements of cylindrical bowl and flattened heel, it differs from many other pipe makers' renditions in that the transition is not significantly raised above the heel. It still sits sturdily upright, but draws more focus to the bowl for a firm, stolid presence. That's especially so in the case of this tall, Group 5 offering dressed in the smoky Chestnut smooth finish.
A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.
