Dunhill: Shell Briar (4103F) (2023) (9mm) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-015-7902

One of Dunhill's rarer iterations of their "03" Billiard, this Group 4 offering has been drilled to accommodate a 9mm filter. It maintains the iconic form's traditional proportions and stolid presence, with perhaps a touch of added muscularity to the shank to house the filter. An archetypal rendition shape-wise, this is the perfect pipe for those drawn to Dunhill's prestige and shaping style but who also prefer filtered pipes.

The Shell Briar's addition to the Dunhill catalog was a pivotal moment in pipe smoking history. Before 1917, pipes with sandblasted finishes had never been made, and Alfred Dunhill's innovative mind created arguably the most popular finish for pipes today when he unveiled the Shell Briar. With its dark, reserved color palette and delightful texture, it's no surprise that it's still wildly popular over a century later.
