Dunhill: Root Briar (4412) (2022) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-015-7932
The "12" shape designation on Dunhill's standard shape chart denotes a Chimney/Stack bowl. In this particularly Group 4 version, that stummel is fitted to a slightly bent stem as denoted by the second "4" stamp in the nomenclature. Such a pairing adds more gesture to the silhouette and lends the bowl the impression of a forward cant, while also more evenly distributing the pipe's weight. The tall, deep-chambered bowl is appreciatively dressed in the Root Briar finish, affording plenty of surface area to enjoy the finish's warm stain.
The highest honor for a Dunhill pipe is to receive the prestigious Root Briar appellation. Root Briars have been coveted by pipe smokers ever since they first debuted in 1931, due to the fact that each pipe must boast briar completely free of even the most minor of blemishes. Dunhill has the strictest of standards and expectations for quality with all of their pipes, and so any block of briar that comes to bear the Root Briar stamp must indeed be superlative.
