Eltang Basic: Rusticated Natural Poker Tobacco Pipe

There simply isn't a more iconic Poker design than Tom Eltang's utilitarian smoking machine, particularly when finished in his signature rustication. Naturally, Tom has chosen the Poker as the first model in his Eltang Basic line. However, he's made a few tweaks to the popular design; the shank (typically fashioned from either briar or bamboo) has been replaced with ultra-light and ultra-durable carbon fiber, while the proprietary mouthpieces are machined to be fitted with a reverses tenon. Aside from being nearly indestructible, the carbon fiber shank was also selected for its heat-resistant properties, making it the ideal shank material for a pipe that is designed to be a workhorse.

Seen here in Tom's popular rustication, this example is completely natural and will color beautifully with time and use. Natural finishes are rare, even when rusticated. Briar is an unforgiving material, and a block must be flawless to remain unfinished.
