Tom Eltang: Partially Sandblasted Elephant's Foot with Bamboo Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-299-0861

Tom Eltang's Elephant's Foot is one of the most readily identified of Tom's shapes, taking an approach to grain that might bring to mind some aspects of the Blowfish, with crisp paneling used to frame areas of birdseye and cross-grain in a neat, tidy display. Here, Tom has taken the extra step of sandblasting its side panels, lending it an even more attractive appearance, the texture-rich flanks further highlighting the smooth, contrast-stained birdseye where it rests at fore and aft. Pair that with three knuckles of perfectly-spaced, pale bamboo, and it's a piece that practically epitomizes the skill of the world-renowned carver.
