Tom Eltang: Smooth Poker Tobacco Pipe

Fantastic birdseye is aligned on each flank, with horizontal straight grain fore and aft, and that grain orientation continues onto the shank, which is slender as a pencil — in fact, it's trimmer than a pen, and maybe a pencil, but I don't have a pencil here for comparison. The bowl is quite tall and its rim highlights excellent horizontal grain. The mouthpiece is small, of course, in concert with the rest of the pipe, though it widens toward the lip button for added comfort and easy clenching. It's so light I can't tell the difference between holding it and not. Very comfortable, light, practical and a stunning visual extravaganza. This shape is Tom's signature, with this particular piece finished smooth — a rarer iteration compared to his iconic rusticated ones.
