Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation: Forza Nebbiolo (1931) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-787-1578
The "1931" design from 4th Generation is a subtly bent and forward-inclined bent Apple that corresponds to Erik Stokkebye's 1931 blend, a Virginia and Burley flake. The pipe tobacco honors the birthdate of Erik's father, Erik Peter, the third generation of the Stokkebye family's long standing tobacco tradition, and as a pipe shape, it's a dynamic rendition designed by the Ascortis of Caminetto pipes. As such, it beautifully reflects the Ascortis' signature interpretation of classic Danish pipe design, the lines of this piece soft and supple as the transition gently eases into the bowl's curvature. In line with the Ascortis' typical aesthetic, the bowl is more muscular compared to the slender shank and stem, and it's founded on a firm heel, making for a hearty, natural presence in hand while the profile prioritizes elegant fluidity and poise.
The Forza series presents Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation's most recognizable pipes in four distinctive finishes: the Nebbiolo, the Fiano, the Grappa, and the Primitivo. The Nebbiolo consists of an auburn sandblast; the Fiano, a honey-auburn smooth finish; the Grappa, a dark, craggy rustication; and the Primitivo, a dark, wire-brushed rustication. Regardless of finish, every pipe in the Forza series is united by a flashy metallic accent.
