Ernie Markle: Smooth Bent Apple with Boxwood
Product Number: 002-490-0015
American pipemaker Ernie Markle goes well-and-thoroughly Danish here, presenting us with a shapely, boxwood-accented bent Apple any Scandinavian artisan would be proud of. The design is indulgently voluptuous, and as you might expect, this translates into a full-bodied and smoothly curvaceous feel in hand - very enjoyable indeed, even just to hold, much less smoke. Fitting to such heady shaping, the grain of the briar itself is dense and lush, with wild strokes of flame grain streaking all about, breaking out into an equally fiery three-quarter grain as it approaches the topmost portion of the bowl.
