+About Falcon
When Kenly Bugg of Fort Wayne, Indiana, designed the Falcon pipe in 1936, his motivations were unpretentious: As both an avid pipe smoker and ardent engineer, Kenly sought to create a pipe that prioritized practicality and advantageous smoking properties, emphasizing a cool, dry smoke, lightweight comfort, and efficient, modular construction. He succeeded in all of those considerations by marrying metal and briar.
Produced in the UK since the early '60s, the Falcon pipe consists of two elements: a removable, briar bowl and a lightweight and durable, aluminum shank fitted with a stem. The bowl features a threaded base that screws directly into a cup-like section, called the "humidome," on the end of the Falcon's metal fuselage. This humidome collects any moisture that may develop while smoking, and thanks to the threaded attachment, the bowl can be disconnected at any time to remove excess moisture. Even more importantly, such construction enables the pairing of any Falcon shank and stem with any Falcon bowl, making them completely customizable for any pipe-smoking preference.
