Alex Florov: Smooth Falling Leaf Freehand (Slonim)
Product Number: 002-354-0175
With every fluttering turn in the hand, and from any possible vantage, this Slonim Falling leaf is a study in quiet, almost hypnotic fascination. Leaves stacked upon leaves, subtle cupping and central veins mirrored with the convexity of the rim and heel - for a treat, move from picture to picture and observe how the very spirit of this masterwork morphs with each new perspective. Perhaps the most amazing, at least to my way of thinking, is how Florov was able to create all of these differing contexts, while maintaining such a daunting level of ridge/plane continuity. Then again, I shouldn't be amazed. after all, this is Alex.
