Geiger: Smooth Tomato with Spalted Maple Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-564-0025
If Sara and Love Geiger were to take their famed Bodog, a unique Bulldog/Rhodesian shape first designed by Bo Nordh, and render its characteristically crisp and tight-knit lines into something much softer and considerably organic, the result would be something like this. It still maintains the Bodog's distinctive degree of implied visual momentum, though the lack of firm lines, coupled with the pronounced visual weight of the bowl, lends this one a sense of languid easiness, as compared to the sense of visual alertness sported by the Bodog (to my eye, at least). And in the way of making things look easy, this briar effortlessly wears an entire rim's worth of incredible birdseye, coupled with licks of flame covering the whole of the flaring bowl and a heel's worth of equally intense whorls, all highlighted by an electrically bold contrast stain.
