Geiger: Smooth Euclid Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-564-0055

Greek mathematician Euclid of Alexandria is often referred to as the "founder of geometry" with his Elements being one of the most influential mathematical publications ever produced and used as the main source for teaching math for centuries. Euclid is also the name of one of the signature shapes crafted by the husband and wife duo Love Geiger and Sara Mossberg. It's practically a study of geometrical precision in its own right, showcasing the expert engineering and carefully considered line work that goes into each pipe the Swedish duo carves. We've seen the Euclid two times previously, with Sara and Love tweaking the orientation of the bowl's ridgeline or the degree of bend lent to the mouthpiece, but still retains the design's defining elements.

At its core, the Euclid is essentially riffing off the Volcano shape, maintaining the tapered bowl's crisp ridgeline and maximizing the briar's grain orientation. On this particular example, the Swedish artisans have utilized asymmetry in a beautifully minimalist manner that's most readily apparent when viewed from the smoker's perspective. The ridgeline that outlines the bowl's base, along with the rim's ridgeline, merge to create a well-defined point along the bowl's aft, forming a teardrop shape when viewed from above, and is slightly tilted to the right. The ridgeline that surrounds the bowl's base also plays an instrumental role in presenting the immaculate grain that adorns this piece. Above that ridgeline, tight streaks of vertical grain cascade down the bowl while below, a sea of swirling birdseye populates the entire underside of the stummel, matching the pin pricks of birdseye gracing the rim's surface. It's a spectacular piece from the talented duo, each line expertly used to create a pipe that will undoubtedly bring years of joy to anyone lucky enough to own it.
