Peter Heding: Smooth Virgin Bent Brandy with Boxwood (Gold) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-362-0199
As much time, labor, and expense pipemakers put into coming up with strong, clear contrast stains, the palest briars still hold a special place. The reason for this is simply because, while a contrast finish can make the most of truly special grain, something like this Heding virgin finish is remarkable because it cannot disguise even the tiniest natural flaws. Every piece of briar has those flaws; it is the nature of a natural material.
The remarkable part is for an artisan to produce the shape they desire, with the grain arrangement they desired, and by mere fortune have it come out with only the barest and fewest of tiny "beauty marks," as it were — something this bent Brandy accomplishes in spades.
